Hot Technology – Baby Bottle Sterilizer, Ellie

The first-ever baby bottle sterilizer to utilize digital ultraviolet (UV) LED technology will start delivering to homes in April 2017. Contained within a light and easy-to-carry package, this sterilizer is a whole new way of keeping kids safe from germs in only 60 seconds.

Recently, Radius worked with RayVio to produce a water bottle prototype that could demonstrate the company’s unique, efficient, and powerful UV LED technology. The resulting prototype has been effective in quickly taking RayVio’s technology to market in product form, and now Ellie is showing in real time the exciting consumer demand for UV-based products. Ellie is helping RayVio deliver its technology to those who need it as well as inspire and grow the market.

Ellie is a portable, digital UV sterilizing product that kills 99.9% of germs on a baby’s milk bottle or pacifier in 60 seconds. It features TruViolet UV LED technology that is 100% mercury free, non-toxic, and robust. It can be used to sterilize many baby-related products, such as breast pump parts, baby toothbrushes, spoons, bowls, teething rings, small toys, and so much more. Ellie features sleek and ergonomic designs that make sterilizing baby bottles easy. It also sterilizes the water used for mixing formula to make milk on the go. No more steam, microwave, or boiling bottles, or using toxic chemical wipes on the bottles and pacifiers that go into your baby’s mouth. It is about the size of a lunchbox and fits easily into a diaper bag or mom’s tote bag. Ellie is powered by a USB rechargeable battery and can last more than one week before it needs recharging.

Ellie is the only portable solution available for parents to sterilize baby feeding products outside of the home. It is made possible by patented TruViolet UV LED sterilizing technology that uses microchips powered by battery to emit UV light that kills 99.9% of germs that make your baby sick. TruViolet technology has been tested and its efficacy verified by an independent, third-party laboratory with A2LA accreditation and accepted by the FDA against various common germs, including E.coli, salmonella, staph and even superbugs such as MRSA. Made of BPA-free, food-grade, light-weight plastics and aluminum to ensure the highest quality of safety and environmental responsibility, Ellie is 100% non-toxic and safe to use around children. Ellie is compatible with most major baby bottle brands on the market today.
