With its global line of printers lacking a coherent design vision and unreflective of its strong brand promise of innovation worldwide, Avery Dennison looked to Radius to envision how plans for future models could be aligned stylistically across Avery Dennison’s total printer line, with the more immediate hope of applying this visual language to a product already slated for production.

Exploring for Opportunities
Partnering with Avery Dennison’s global engineering team across the US, Europe and Asia, engineers explored the product as a whole: considering size and footprint needs, the sustainable materials involved, and the shape for each of the components influencing printer use.
To uphold the company’s mission to build creative, intelligent, and sustainable products, each element of the printers were tested, requiring the team to incorporate key differentiating features into the design to serve as signature features for printer models moving forward. These included a circular window to have clear site of media and the inviting chin element and rounded corners

As Interesting in Form as in Function
